Cabinet Refacing for those Kitchen Cupboard Doors
Remodeling your kitchen requires many steps and one of the more difficult undertakings is the kitchen cabinets themselves. Just by doing some cabinet refacing or refinishing your kitchen cupboard doors, you can give your kitchen an entirely new look. The modern looking kitchen of today often has a clean finish. At this point, you can decide if you’d like to add new hardware or use your existing items. You can finish off this new and improved look in your kitchen by using new drawer pulls and handles. Your overall kitchen decor will determine what type of hardware you can pull off, so to speak. If you have an island, maybe your kitchen remodeling plans call for those to remain the same, refinishing or replacing only the hanging cabinets. By having all of the kitchen cabinets with matching hardware, you can get away with having the doors of island look different; the hardware makes the look cohesive. With most kitchen remodels, there is also a new paint color to go on the walls.
If your cabinet refacing is going to be repainting, you can decide if you’ll use the same color as that of the kitchen walls. There is also the possibility that you’ll opt for a door with a panel or insert, instead of a solid style that is stained or painted. The open air feeling in many modern kitchen can be achieved with either clear or opaque glass inserts. A nice look can also be achieved using a metal insert, rather than glass at all. When using metal in the kitchen, copper, stainless steel and brushed aluminum are some of the most popular.
