Go With Solar Garden Lights
There’s basically no question about it. If you want to do both yourself and the environment a favor, you have to light your outdoors with solar garden lights. Once upon a time, solar garden lighting was expensive to buy, difficult to install, and a costly hassle to maintain. With the popular use of LED bulbs, however, costs and installation have decreased tremendously, making solar power an option for almost everyone. The initial investment is minimal. The bulbs are rechargeable. They’ll also last up to a decade, or even longer. Colors are become more of a possibility, as well.
So how do you go about choosing the appropriate LED garden lights? Well, there’s no end to the designs to choose from.
Recessed lighting and deck lighting. These solar powered garden lights are perfect for patio walls, floors, pool decks, and steps. You’ll find them round or square, and framed in anything from brass to steel, to copper. Use recessed lighting to cast a glow in trees or line your driveway, as well.

Garden spot lights and floodlights. These lights can be positioned to spot on specific plants, shrub border, or other outdoor features. Lighting beneath a large tree is another way to make use of these illuminated beauties.
Spreadlights. If you can’t install or don’t like recessed lighting, then bollard type lights are what you’ll need for the paths, steps, decks, and terraces. The fact that you can get these outdoor garden lights in LED form as well just makes the bargain that much better.
Do remember that even if you can’t or don’t want to take advantage of the solar garden lights idea, make conscious decisions as to how you’ll use your energy. For example, buying low voltage garden lights for wherever possible is a great idea. It’s ecologically responsible. It can also be a subtle and worthy design choice. Some areas, like accents on the shrubbery, only need low voltage lights, and others will actually look better with softer illumination, like delicate flowers or pots. It’s up to you to make your garden look beautiful. It’s also up to you to care for the energy costs. And there’s no reason for contradiction.
