For A Cushy Couch Cover
If you have either children or pets, or have simply been using the same couch for a number of years, chances are that you’ve begun to notice some obvious signs of wear. It’s normal, of course. No need to be embarrassed. What there is a need for, however, is a great looking couch cover. When the sofa is dirty beyond cleaning or torn beyond repair, couch slipcovers are a simple and inexpensive option.
Even more than simple and inexpensive, you can buy them anywhere. A local linen store, department store, or online. You can pay anywhere from $40 to $200. Depending on the size, material, and brand name, you’ll either hardly notice the expense or make a decent dent in your monthly purchases. Most slipcovers come in loveseat or classic fit, allowing for a couple inches of variability for slightly larger or smaller couches.
Sectional couch covers are the difficult ones to buy. The dimensions of sectional sofas vary too greatly for most stores to guarantee a perfect fit. You have a couple options. Either, buy two covers; a loveseat and classic fit, and tuck in the arms at the sectional meeting point. Or, you can order a custom made sectional couch cover. If you give the right dimensions, your cover should fit beautifully. Of course, you can also make them yourself! Sectional couch slip covers wouldn’t be difficult for someone with a crafty hand and some sewing experience.
If you only want to cover certain cushions, or want to spice up the living room by covering different cushions with different patterns, buy individual couch cushion covers. These won’t disguise the back, sides, or arms of your sofa, but the cushions will take on a new life. Be creative with this one!
Even if you couch is new, or still new looking, you might want to consider plastic couch covers. We’re not talking old grandma style. A plastic couch cover doesn’t have to crunch or crackle when you sit down, and it certainly shouldn’t be uncomfortable. Quality plastic will be sophisticated and protective. Your beautiful upholstery will live a long, long life.
Whichever couch slipcover you decide upon, let it be something easy to maintain. Machine washable, preferably, or plastic that just needs an occasional wipe down. Comfortable fabric is important, so that you’ll actually enjoy the thing. Make sure it’s the right size before you place an order. Then, sit back, relax, enjoy the show!
